
Pulaski, Tenn. – The Giles County Commission met Monday night and elected new leadership roles while also addressing key funding decisions.
David Wamble was chosen as Commission Chairman, with Shelly Goolsby elected as Chairman Pro Tem. Roger Reedy will serve as Chaplain, and Chris Williams was reappointed as County Attorney. Commissioners also named members to the Beer Board, Financial Board, and the Ethics and Title VI Committee.
Barry Alsup was confirmed as Veterans Service Officer. On nonprofit funding, commissioners approved contributions to the Child Development Center ($5,000), The Shelter ($5,000), the Senior Center ($20,000), and the Chamber of Commerce Tourism Division. A $5,000 request from STAAR Theater did not pass.
Meanwhile, a proposal to reduce the size of the commission from 21 to 14 members was sent back to the Legislative Committee for further review.
