GILES COUNTY, Tenn. — Giles County welcomed a special guest Thursday as Mark Ezell, Commissioner of the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development, visited Pulaski for a tourism-focused discussion hosted by the Giles County Chamber of Commerce.

The event, held at First National Bank, brought together local leaders and community members to explore how Giles County can strengthen its position in Tennessee’s booming tourism industry. Commissioner Ezell highlighted the state’s unique challenge — 42 of Tennessee’s counties border other states, all competing to attract visitors and tourism dollars.

Ezell emphasized the vital role tourism plays in economic development, not just statewide but locally in places like Giles County. He also shared strategies and insights aimed at increasing tourism revenue.

Many county officials were in attendance and are now considering new ways to boost tourism revenue.

The visit sparked productive conversations about both the challenges and opportunities facing Giles County, with a renewed commitment to making tourism a key pillar in the county’s growth.
