Kidnapping and Double Murder Suspect Captured in Elkton, Tennessee

    ELKTON, Tenn. – A multi-state manhunt came to an end Friday morning in Giles County. At approximately 7:15 a.m. on July 11, 2025, Aaron Dontay Williams was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Service with the assistance of the FBI and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. He was located and arrested in Elkton, Tennessee, and is now being held at the Giles County Jail.

    Williams, 41, was wanted by Auburn Police in connection with a double homicide and the abduction of his three-year-old son.  An Amber Alert had been issued as the child was believed to be in imminent danger. Authorities confirmed Friday morning that the child was found safe and unharmed.

    According to the Auburn Police Department, Williams had been on the run since earlier this week. A $15,000 reward had been offered by Crime Stoppers and the FBI for information leading to his arrest and prosecution.

    Williams is described as a 6’1” Black male, weighing approximately 240 pounds. Authorities had warned the public that he was considered armed and dangerous.

    The Auburn Police Department continues to lead the investigation, with assistance from federal and state agencies. Additional details, including formal charges and court proceedings, are expected in the coming days.
