Senator Marsha Blackburn Launches Campaign for Tennessee Governor

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - U.S. Senator Marsha Blackburn officially announced her candidacy for Tennessee governor this week, setting the stage for a competitive 2026 election.

As reported by CBS News, Blackburn is seeking to succeed term-limited Governor Bill Lee and is expected to be a frontrunner in the Republican primary. Her campaign emphasizes traditional conservative values, touting her alignment with President Donald Trump’s agenda, including strong immigration policies, education reform, economic development, and energy independence.

“Tennessee should be America’s conservative leader for this generation and the next,” Blackburn stated during her announcement on Wednesday, August 6.

A seasoned lawmaker with a national profile, Blackburn brings name recognition and fundraising power to the race. She will face competition from Rep. John Rose, who has also entered the race.
