Barbara Ann Tidwell

Barbara Ann Tidwell, age 86, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, August 30th, 2025 at her home in Lawrenceburg surrounded by family and friends.

Barbara was born on November 29th, 1938 to the late William and Ruble Blackwood in Grassy, AL. Barbara worked for many years at Sears, before retiring and becoming a full time Mama B, spending lots of time with her loving grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, watching her grandchildren play in sporting events, and spending time with her loving family and friends. She had a deep love for her Lord and was a member of New Prospect Community Church .

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Coach Glenn Tidwell; brother, Robert Blackwood, and her great granddaughter, Emmy Bea Markus; nephew, Brian Amos.

She is survived by her children, Laura Benson (Bobby), Mark Tidwell (Crystal), and Stacie McFall (Nakia); siblings, James Blackwood, Brenda Amos, and Ralph Blackwood (Cindy); six grandchildren, Abby Markus (Zach), Bobby Benson III, Spencer Tidwell (Lauren), Avery Tidwell (Julie), Bryson McFall, and Aniston McFall.

The family would like to extend deep gratitude to the many caregivers she had throughout the past year that provided exceptional care and love to Ms. Barbara.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the New Prospect Community Church building fund at: 10 Walking Horse Ln. Lawrenceburg, TN 38464.

Visitation will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Pettus-Turnbo Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 3rd , 2025 beginning at 10:00 a.m. Brother Chris Blalock will be officiating.

Interment will be held at Lawrence County Memorial Gardens.
