David Allen Gooch, age 68 of Prospect, passed away Tuesday September 23, 2025 at his residence. Allen was born in Pulaski, TN on April 8, 1957 to Justin Kerr and Veona Opalene Boone Gooch. He worked in maintenance for Defense Contractors, loved fishing, tinkering and working on things, but mainly he loved helping others. Allen truly cherished his fur babies Radar, Daisey, and Thumper.
He was preceded in death by his parents Kerr and Opalene Gooch; wife Shelia Ann Gooch; brothers Jerry Gooch, Wayne Gooch and his wife Annie Ruth Gooch; niece and nephew Dara and Randy Gooch.
Visitation will be held from 1-2pm on Saturday September 27, 2025 at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will be in Giles Memory Gardens beginning at 2:30pm.
In lieu of flowers the family request that Memorial Contributions be made to the Giles County Humane Society.
Allen is survived by his daughter Katrina Moynihan of Prospect; stepdaughter Felcia Gvozdas of Prospect; brother Ray Gooch of Pulaski; sisters Annette Lister (Brian) of Delrose, Brenda Moore (Charlie) of Prospect, Deloris Walls (Wayne) of Pulaski; grandchildren Tala and Arabella Gvozdas; very special friend Sue Moynihan of Prospect; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
