Evelyn "Tootsie" Thornton

Evelyn “Tootsie” Thornton, age 89 of Goodspring, passed away peacefully
Monday, October 26, 2026, at her home surrounded by family.
Evelyn was born March 2, 1937, in Pulaski, TN to Bob T. and Eva Louise
Locke Johnson. She was retired from Maremont Gabriel and a faithful
member of Shores Church of Christ. In her spare time, she loved working in
her flowers, roses were her favorite, and she loved traveling allover and
visiting different places with her cousin’s making memories. Evelyn was
preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Thomas Fred Thornton;
brother, Robert Johnson and his wife Glenda; daughter, Freda Page; and
her son, Terry Thornton.
Visitation will be Friday October 30, 2026, from 11am to 2pm at Carr &
Erwin Funeral Home with Funeral Service to follow at 2pm. Interment will
be in New Shores Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna McDougal and husband Roger;
sons, Barry Thornton and wife Connie, Gary Thornton and wife Tina; sister
Margaret Konig and husband Bernard; numerous grandchildren, great
grandchildren, great great grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
