Harry Wayne Tarpley

Harry Wayne Tarpley passed away Friday, September 18, 2026, at his home in Giles County
surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on January 20, 1941, and
was 85 years old.
Harry, or “Pop” as he was best known as, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great
grandfather. Pop loved watching westerns, eating a big bowl of ice cream and most of all his
family. He was extremely proud of his retirement, after 32.5 years from the Tennessee
Department of Transportation as a surveyor. Harry was a member of Blooming Grove Church,
and he was a Veteran of the National Guard.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to Erica Blocker, and the staff at Physicians
and Surgeons. Also, to his nurses at NHC Homecare and Compassus Hospice Care.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at
Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, in the chapel of
Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The burial will take place in Maplewood Cemetery.
Harry was preceded in death by, his parents, Harry and Elise Newton Tarpley, brother, James
Calvin Tarpley.

Grandchildren, Kylie (Justin) Wilbanks, Gabriel Bailey, Alyna Bolton, Anthony Hargrove, Tiffany
Skeen, Clara Jean Marchbanks, Katie Warren, Kelby Thompson, and Kameron Thompson.
Great grandchildren, Lani and Sadi Hopper, Gracie Haddock, Johnny Reed Warren, and Oaklee
Hargrove.
