Jane Agbayani Ballesteros of Pulaski passed away Friday afternoon at 3pm, the hour of Divine Mercy, October 10, 2025, at her home in Giles County surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Manila, Philippines on September 20, 1935, and was 90 years old. A beloved prayer that Jane loved by and promoted: “Dear Jesus, help us to spread your fragrance everywhere we go. Flood our souls with your spirit and life. Penetrate and possess our whole being, so utterly, that our lives may only be radiance of yours. Shine through us, and be so in us, that every soul we come in contact with may feel your presence in our soul. Let them look up and see no longer us but Jesus! Stay with us, and then we shall begin to shine as you shine; so to shine as to be a light to others; the light, O Jesus will be all from you, none of it will be ours; it will be you; shining on others through us. Let us praise you in the way you love best by shining on those around us. Let us preach you without preaching, not by words but by example, by the catching force, the sympathetic influence of what we do, the evident fullness of the love our hearts bear to you. Amen.” Jane became one with this beautiful prayer. Jane was an extraordinary loving wife and devoted friend. She grew up in Manila, Luzon Province, surrounded by her father’s family and the blessings of their rice and banana plantations. Though born into privilege, her family was known for their generosity and deep compassion for the poor. Raised by gifted parents in the medical field and devoted followers of Christ, Jane learned early that wealth and education were God given gifts to serve others. Her father was often compared to the beloved Doctor Missionary, Albert Schweitzer, for his heroic service and humility- an example Jane carried throughout her life. Following her family’s footsteps, Jane earned her doctorate from the University of St. Thomas in Manila. A humble holy soul who radiated the love of Christ, she was often found praying before the statue of St. Jude, the patron of impossible causes. Her home was a place of warmth and music, as she and her family shared a deep love for the piano. Known for her elegance, simplicity, and quiet grace, Jane captivated others not by seeking attention but by the kindness she showed to all. A scholar, a faithful Christian, and a true defender of the poor, Jane’s life was a reflection of service, humility, and unwavering faith. Jane’s legacy will forever be: drawing souls into the healing love of God. Everyone was as a child of God. Jane was a beloved patroness and spiritual leader for the Alliance of Two Heats prayer ministry. With her devoted husband, together as co-missionaries, they constructed and provided for many churches, catechetical centers, medical clinics, and schools for the poorest of the poor in southeast Asia. Recently their last church was opened on October 13th, 2025 on the border of Thailand and Cambodia, dedicated to the Alliance of Two Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
Jane was preceded in death by, her parents, Dr. Julio Quitasol and Mary Agbayani, sisters, Betty Quitasol, and Dr. Jojo Quitasol, brothers, Dr. Maxi Quitasol, Dr. Ambrose Quitasol, Jim Quitasol, Bernardo Quitasol, and Dr. Fortunato Quitasol, and adopted a severely disabled boy, John John Quitasol.
