Jerry Michael Cook, age 81, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, at Alive Hospice in Nashville, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on January 30, 1945, in Pulaski, Tennessee, Jerry was a man who truly never met a stranger. He was best known for his quick wit, friendly humor and infectious smile. Jerry loved to "cut up" with everyone he encountered—whether they were lifelong friends or someone he had just met in passing. His ability to bring a smile to a stranger's face was a gift that defined his 81 years and left a lasting impression on all who knew him. A devoted follower of Christ, Jerry found great joy in his faith and loved to sing gospel hymns. Music held a special place in his heart, and it was while singing at church that he first met the woman who would become his beloved wife of 38 years. A proud veteran, Jerry served his country in the United States Army from September 1965 to September 1967. During his service, he applied his sharp mind and attention to detail as a bookkeeper in the payroll division, ensuring his fellow soldiers were taken care of. Jerry is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah (Debbie) Sutton Cook; his sister, Ann Haselton; and several nieces and nephews who loved their "Uncle Jerry" dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Charlie Emerline Cook, and his four brothers, with whom he is now reunited.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at Alive Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Jerry’s final days.
