Rebecca Dorsey Hart

Rebecca Dorsey Hart, age 93, passed away on September 20, 2025, following a brief illness.  

Visitation with family and friends will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.  

Funeral services set for 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2025.  

Both will be held at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home in Pulaski, TN.  

Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery.  

Mrs. Hart, daughter of Cecil Judson Dorsey and Annie Ruby Benton Dorsey, was born November 26, 1931, in Opp, Alabama.  She was Valedictorian of her Opp High School graduating class of 1949.  She graduated from Alabama Polytechnic Institute (now Auburn University) in 1953 with a degree in Home Economics and was a life member of the Auburn Alumni Association. She married Dr. Charles William (Bill) Hart, Jr., in 1953, and continued her studies at Alabama Polytechnic Institute as a graduate assistant in Home Management while her husband completed his degree in veterinary medicine. They moved to Pulaski, TN the following year. Mrs. Hart taught Home Economics in the Giles County School System at Bodenham School and Minor Hill School. She later assisted her husband at his veterinary practice. During their 38 years of marriage, they had three children. Mrs. Hart was devoted to her family.  As an active member of East Hill Church of Christ, she was an example of what it means to live a Christian life grounded by faith.

Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Ann Judson Dorsey Adair, and her husband, Dr. Charles William Hart, Jr.  

She is survived by her children, Charles William Hart, III (LuAnne) of Eufaula, AL, Amy Judson Hart of Panama City Beach, FL, and Elizabeth Hart Hatfield (Bobby) of Pulaski, TN; grandchildren Will Hart (Brooke), Rebecca Hart Harris (David), Robert Hatfield (Emily), and Bill Hatfield; great grandchildren Anna Hatfield, Owen Hatfield, Dorothy Anne Harris, David Harris, Jr., Margaret Harris, and Lucy Hart.
