Robert (Bobby) Guy Moore passed away on May 6, 2026 at his home in Birmingham, Alabama. He was born on August 29, 1950 and was 75 years old. Bobby Guy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was born in Pulaski, TN and spent his childhood there. He attended UT Martin and was drafted into the military after his first year. He served in the US Army as a Specialist 4th Class and as Crew Leader of the Chaparral Missile Program in Germany. During his time in the military, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, 2nd Class Artillery Badge and recognized as an expert with the M-16 Rifle. After his time in the military, he enrolled in MTSU and obtained a degree in Marketing and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After graduating, he worked in agricultural chemical sales for most of his career and was often recognized as a top salesman in the company. Bobby Guy’s passion was serving his community. While residing in Athens, AL, he was an active member in the Limestone County Republican party and served regularly as a political commentator on a local radio show. He also served in the prison ministry by teaching, mentoring, and providing Bibles to prisoners. Within the church, he often taught on Sunday morning and Wednesday nights. He was a long-time member of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church in Athens, AL before moving to Birmingham, where he attended Church of the Highlands. Bobby Guy was known for his jovial spirit, sense of humor and clever one-liners. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Bobby Guy was preceded in death by his parents Guy Russell Moore and Anna Lou Moore. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Ann Sherrill Reedy.
He is survived by his wife Janet Logan Moore of Birmingham, AL. Daughters Allison Moore Woodruff (Trey), Suzanne Moore Freud (Bryan) and Jordan Moore Hughes (Ryan). Grandchildren James Matthew Freud, Colin Garner Woodruff, Olivia Elise Freud and John Robert Woodruff. Brother-in-law Roger Reedy. Nephews Roger Dale Reedy II (Kim) and Robert Scott Reedy (Carol).
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Olivet Methodist Church in Pulaski, Tennessee. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm.
The burial with full military honors will be in Giles Memory Gardens.
