Virginia Joyce Gowan

Virginia Joyce Gowan passed away peacefully at her home in Rogersville, Alabama on Friday February 6, 2026. Joyce was born February 20, 1943 in Pulaski Tennessee. Joyce retired as the HR Manager at Magotteaux after 27 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She enjoyed living life on the river and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026 from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home

Funeral service will follow at 2:00pm Sunday, February 8, 2026 in the chapel of Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home.

The inurnment will be in Giles Memory Garden.

She proceeded in death by her mother, Catherine Williams, father, Horace Noah and sister, Nina Ruth Garner.

She is survived by her;

Husband of 66 years, Jackie Gowan of Rogersville, Alabama.

Daughter, Katrina Gowan of Rogersville, Alabama.

Son, Kent Gowan (Mel) of Decatur, Alabama.

Son, Kerry Gowan (Debbie) of Athens, Alabama.

Grandchildren, Ashley Springer, Blake Gowan (Courtney), Anna Harper Myers (Will), Jackson Gowan (Taylor), Dane Whitworth (Candice), and Mallory Whitworth.

11 Great Grandchildren also survive.

Special niece Kathy Karch (Richard).
