Jean Smith Phelps

Jean Smith Phelps, of Pulaski, TN, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2026, at her home in
Giles County surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Pulaski, Tennessee on June 3,
1940, and was 86 years old.
Jean was a loving wife, mother, aunt and nana. She loved to cook, play cards, and was known
for her chocolate cake, pies, and fudge. Jean loved to fish and spending time with her family on
the front porch.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 3, 2026, from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Bennett-May &
Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, in the chapel of
Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.
The burial will be in the Phelps Cemetery in the Wales Community.
She was preceded in death by, her parents Andy and Irma Alice Booker Smith. Her son Jamie
Phelps. Her daughter, Melissa Holman. Brothers, Doyle, Jr, Pete, and Robert Smith. Her sisters,
Lou Abernathy, Inez Rogers, Ernestine Barlar, Elise Bledsoe and Faye Harwell.
She is survived by her,
Husband of 67 years, Mark Phelps of Pulaski, TN.
Daughter, Rhonda (Ed) Miller of Pulaski, TN.
Sister, Alice Brown of Pulaski, TN
Grandchildren, Jessica Crabtree, Jennifer (Cody) Spurlin, Jaye Phelps, Brandon (Jaque) Miller,
Kara Phelps, and Daniel McMahan.
10 Great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews also survive.
