Violet Sue Scott, age 83, of Lawrenceburg, TN, passed away Wednesday, October 28 th ,
2026 at her home in Lawrenceburg. Sue was born on August 30 th , 1943 to the late
Raymond Richard Holtzman and Martha Marie Graham Holtzman in Detroit, Michigan.
She moved to Lawrenceburg with the love of her life, Charles Womack Scott, and their
2 children, Tammy and Randy in the fall of 1968, where her life of service to others
began. She was an exceptional Seamstress. Her sewing machine was always ready to
make something, hem this, or repair that. She worked at Kay Windsor Clothing
Manufacturer, where she served as Union Steward. When Kay Windsor closed it’s doors
she began the journey that she took the greatest pride in… caring for her grandsons
Dusty, Jon, and Jake. This journey continued when they went to school. She then
worked at Summertown Elementary in order to continue mentoring and shaping her
grandsons into the young men they are today. She also worked as a courier for Smith
Kline Laboratories. Her service to others continued with her work with the American Red
Cross, to her immediate as well as extended family and friends. She was a member of
Summertown Baptist Church and was very active with her church family. She was also
known for delicious cooking and her famous “mistakes” … those were the best treats.
She was always involved with meal preparation for families in time of need and
countless vacation bible school snacks at Macedonia Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Womack
Scott, and her sister, Linda Kaiser.
She is survived by her children, Tammy Ivie (Chris) and Randy Scott (Kim); grandsons,
Dusty Scott (Angela), Jon Ivie (Katelyn), and Jake Scott (Autumn); nine great
grandchildren: Kruz, Kash, Knox, Sophie, and Novie Scott, Janie-Kate, Eleanor, Violet,
